The ACCUPRO 12181738 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling of metals and engineered materials. Built from micrograin carbide and finished with a Titanium Carbonitride (TiCN) coating, it delivers increased surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated tooling. The 2-flute configuration with a 40-degree spiral helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces, making it well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. With a 0.75 inch cutting diameter and a 2.25 inch length of cut, it falls into the long-length category, giving machinists additional reach in deeper pockets and stepped features. Centercutting geometry allows for direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills across job shop, toolroom, and production environments. Its right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional spindle setups. The long-length body is particularly useful when machining deep slots, tall workpiece features, or fixtures that require extended reach beyond what standard-length end mills provide. Machinists working in aerospace, mold and die, general metalworking, and precision fabrication will find this tool applicable for a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Designed as a standard-shank replacement end mill compatible with 3/4 inch collets, end mill holders, and hydraulic or shrink-fit toolholders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before mounting or removing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended grip depth and torque the retention device per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use, and verify runout with a dial indicator when tight tolerances are required.
