The ACCUPRO 12181734 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 5/8-inch cutting diameter, a 2-1/8-inch length of cut, and a 40-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Micrograin carbide construction delivers edge retention and rigidity under demanding cutting conditions. The 2-flute design provides generous flute volume for chip clearance, making it well suited to slotting, profiling, and plunging operations where chip load management is critical. This is a centercutting tool, meaning it can be fed directly into the workpiece axially.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and production milling setups where a long-length reach is required. The long-length configuration with a 4-5/8-inch overall length and matching 5/8-inch shank diameter gives machinists access to deeper pockets and stepped features that standard-length tools cannot reach. It is appropriate for job shops, tool rooms, and production floors handling structural components, mold work, and general-purpose metal removal. No coating is applied, which suits applications where coating interaction with the workpiece material is a concern or where regrinding is planned.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling selection for standard 5/8-inch collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit tooling systems used in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe lockout state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the holder and torque the retention mechanism to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tools.
