The ACCUPRO 12181651 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide and finished with a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating, this tool delivers extended wear resistance and thermal protection during high-speed cutting. The 21/64 inch (0.3281 inch) cutting diameter pairs with a 40-degree helix angle and 2-flute spiral configuration for efficient chip evacuation. Centercutting geometry allows both plunge and peripheral cutting operations. This is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool in a stub-length configuration, suited for tight-tolerance work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This end mill is appropriate for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines in job shop, production, and tool-and-die environments. Its 5/8 inch length of cut and 3/8 inch shank diameter make it well-suited for shallow-to-medium-depth slotting, profiling, and contouring passes. The stub length overall dimension of 2 inches provides added rigidity compared to standard-length tooling, reducing deflection in interrupted cuts or harder materials. Machinists and CNC programmers working with stainless steel, alloy steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials are the primary users of this tool.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use cutting tool compatible with standard 3/8 inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders used on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the minimum recommended insertion depth before tightening; insufficient engagement can cause pullout under cutting load. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as micrograin carbide is brittle and sensitive to eccentric loading.
