The ACCUPRO 12181638 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The tool features a 0.2813-inch (9/32 inch) mill diameter, a 0.5-inch length of cut, and a 2-flute configuration with a 40-degree helix angle. Machined from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers rigidity and edge retention in stub-length applications where overhang must be minimized. The uncoated finish suits applications where coating compatibility with cutting fluid or material type requires evaluation. Centercutting geometry allows both plunge and peripheral milling.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose CNC and manual milling operations in job shop, tool room, and production environments. The stub length format and 5/16-inch shank diameter make it well-matched to close-tolerance work in tight setups. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute are standard for conventional and climb milling on vertical machining centers and knee mills. Typical applications include slotting, profiling, and pocketing in aluminum, steel, and engineering plastics.
Designed for use in standard 5/16-inch collets, ER collet chucks, and end mill holders on CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual mills that accept right-hand tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder to the minimum engagement depth recommended by the holder manufacturer, and torque the retention hardware per the holder specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use.
