The ACCUPRO 12181629 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision metal removal in milling applications. This single-end, center-cutting tool features a 1/4 inch mill diameter, 2 flutes, and a 40-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers rigidity and edge retention well beyond high-speed steel tooling. The stub length configuration keeps deflection low in tight-clearance setups. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry make it compatible with standard CNC and manual milling machine spindle rotation. Machinists and toolroom operators install this end mill in collet chucks or end mill holders for face milling, slotting, and profiling operations.
This end mill is suited for use in machining centers, knee mills, and CNC milling machines where a compact, rigid tool is required. The 3/8 inch length of cut supports slotting and peripheral milling at shallow to moderate depths of cut. The uncoated micrograin carbide substrate works across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a bare carbide surface finish is preferred or where coatings are not required for the application. Stub length overall dimensions reduce tool overhang, improving stability at higher spindle speeds and feed rates.
Designed as a standard 1/4 inch shank square end mill for use in collet chucks, end mill holders, and tool holders accepting 1/4 inch shank tooling on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholder torque and runout specifications. Secure the 1/4 inch shank fully into the holder to the minimum insertion depth recommended for the holder style before tightening. Verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut. Inspect the cutting edges and shank for chips or damage before each use, and replace the tool if edge wear exceeds acceptable limits for the material being machined.
