The ACCUPRO 12181606 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. With a 0.1772-inch mill diameter and a 0.374-inch length of cut, this stub-length tool delivers rigidity and reduced deflection in tight-clearance applications. The micrograin carbide substrate supports the TiCN coating, which adds surface hardness and wear resistance for extended tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. A 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in job shop and production machining settings.
The 12181606 is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations where a small-diameter, high-rigidity tool is required. Its stub length geometry reduces overhang for improved accuracy in shallow-to-moderate depth cuts. The 0.2362-inch shank diameter allows it to seat securely in standard collet chucks and end mill holders. Centercutting capability means it can be used for plunge entry as well as conventional side milling. This end mill is appropriate for use on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills handling aluminum, steel, stainless, brass, and similar materials.
Designed for use in standard collet chucks or end mill holders accepting a 0.2362-inch shank diameter; compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped for small-diameter solid carbide tooling.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention hardware to the machine or toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter carbide tools.
