The ACCUPRO 12181498 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 5/8-inch diameter with a 0.02-inch corner radius, a 1-1/4-inch length of cut, and a 3-1/2-inch overall length. The 2-flute, single-end, centercutting geometry allows it to plunge directly into the workpiece as well as perform standard peripheral and slot milling. The micrograin carbide construction provides edge stability and wear resistance at higher feeds and speeds. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working with vertical machining centers, manual mills, and similar equipment.
This end mill is suited for finish and semi-finish milling passes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a small corner radius is required to strengthen the tool-workpiece interface and reduce stress concentrations. The bright uncoated finish makes it appropriate for applications where coating interaction with the workpiece material is a concern, or where the tool will be resharpened. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand spiral flute geometry are standard for conventional CNC and manual milling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for standard 5/8-inch collet or end mill holders used in vertical machining centers, CNC milling machines, and manual knee mills requiring a corner radius end mill configuration.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and power is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into a clean, undamaged 5/8-inch collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout at the tool tip with a dial indicator before beginning a cut to confirm proper seating and minimize premature edge wear.
