The ACCUPRO 12181480 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 1/2-inch diameter, a 0.01-inch corner radius, and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating that extends tool life in high-temperature cutting applications. With 2 flutes and a 40-degree helix angle, this end mill is well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The micrograin carbide substrate provides rigidity and wear resistance. Installation and operation are performed by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is used in milling operations requiring a tight corner radius for part geometry control. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as standard peripheral cuts. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional CNC machining center setups. With a 1-inch length of cut and 3-inch overall length on a 1/2-inch straight shank, it fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders sized for 1/2-inch tooling. Typical applications include die and mold work, aerospace components, and general precision part machining.
Designed for use in standard 1/2-inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and milling machine spindles accepting a 1/2-inch straight shank. Suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous milling applications where a corner radius end mill geometry is specified.
Installation is performed by machinists using appropriate collet chucks or end mill holders rated for the 1/2-inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Verify tool runout and holder seating before beginning a cut. Follow machine manufacturer torque specifications for collet nut tightening.
