The ACCUPRO 12181477 is a single-end corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in slotting and profiling operations. Constructed from micrograin solid carbide, the tool is coated with TiCN for improved hardness and wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This tool is typically installed by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is suited for milling operations requiring a controlled corner radius on floor-to-wall transitions, including pocket milling, contouring, and finish profiling. It performs in both conventional and climb-milling strategies on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional spindle rotation. It is appropriate for use in ferrous alloys, stainless steels, and hardened materials where TiCN coating provides thermal and abrasion resistance.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard 1/2 inch bore end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by machinists using a calibrated torque wrench and appropriate end mill holder or collet system rated for the 1/2 inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool to confirm proper concentricity. Consult the machine tool manufacturer and applicable shop safety standards before setting feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
