The ACCUPRO 12181472 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal and hard material applications. It features a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch) corner radius that produces consistent, radiused edges in a single pass. The TiCN coating provides enhanced wear resistance and surface hardness compared to uncoated carbide. With 2 flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration and a centercutting design, this tool handles both plunging and side milling. Micrograin carbide construction supports tight tolerances and extended tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Machinists and toolroom operators working on CNC mills and machining centers are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for milling operations that require a controlled corner radius on pockets, slots, and profiles. It is appropriate for use on CNC vertical machining centers and manual knee mills where a 1/2 inch shank toolholder is available. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry, making it useful for pocketing operations without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The TiCN coating makes it a practical choice for cutting alloy steels, stainless steels, cast iron, and similar materials where heat and abrasion at the cutting edge are primary concerns.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide corner radius end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/2 inch shank diameter toolholder.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing or seating the tool. Clean the toolholder bore and shank with a lint-free cloth before insertion to prevent runout caused by debris. Verify shank engagement depth meets the toolholder manufacturer minimum before tightening; insufficient engagement increases deflection and risk of tool pull-out during cutting.
