The ACCUPRO 12181382 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in ferrous and nonferrous materials. It features a 5/16-inch cutting diameter with a 0.010-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the tool path transition, extending part life and improving surface finish. The 2-flute geometry and 40-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation, making it well-suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. An AlTiN coating provides elevated heat resistance and hardness at the cutting edge, supporting higher surface speeds in demanding materials. This is a single-end, centercutting tool machined from micrograin carbide stock.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills where a small-diameter corner radius tool is required for finishing passes, pocket milling, and contour work. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, and toolrooms. The 3/4-inch length of cut and 2-1/2-inch overall length make it appropriate for standard-depth applications where rigidity and runout control are priorities.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 5/16-inch shank toolholders including collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and hydraulic chucks conforming to 5/16-inch bore specifications. No specific OEM model compatibility was provided in the product data.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in an e-stop or locked-out state. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended minimum engagement depth before torquing the retention mechanism. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as micrograin carbide is brittle under impact. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines for runout tolerance and toolholder balancing at the intended spindle speed.
