The ACCUPRO 12181379 is a single-end, corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride), it delivers extended tool life and wear resistance in demanding cutting environments. The 0.06-inch corner radius reduces stress concentrations at part edges and helps prevent chipping on hardened workpiece materials. With a 40-degree helix angle and right-hand flute direction, this 2-flute end mill is well-suited for applications requiring efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. It is a centercutting design, allowing plunge cuts directly into the workpiece. Machinists and tooling specialists working on CNC mills and machining centers are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is used in precision machining operations where a radiused corner profile is required on milled pockets, slots, and edges. The 5/16-inch diameter and 3/4-inch length of cut make it appropriate for detail work and finishing passes in tighter geometries. The TiCN coating performs well in cast iron, steel alloys, stainless steel, and similar hard materials. Its 2-flute configuration suits applications where chip clearance is a priority, such as slotting and profiling in medium to high-hardness workpiece materials. It is sold as a single-end tool intended for use in standard end mill holders or collet chucks on vertical or horizontal machining centers.
Designed as a standard single-end corner radius end mill compatible with end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and milling tool holders accepting a 5/16-inch shank diameter on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with CNC tool change procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool change mode is active before inserting or removing the end mill from the holder. Verify the shank is fully seated and the collet or holder is torqued to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius under magnification before use to confirm no chipping or coating damage occurred during handling.
