The ACCUPRO 12180942 is a tapered ball end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring tight tolerances and controlled taper geometry. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it handles elevated cutting temperatures and extends tool life in hard and abrasive materials. The 5-degree taper per side, 1/32 inch small end diameter, and 2-flute spiral configuration make this tool well-suited for fine detail work, mold cavities, and narrow slot profiling. Right-hand flute direction and a 30-degree helix angle promote chip evacuation and surface finish quality. This tool is sold individually and is intended for use in CNC machining centers.
This tapered ball end mill is used in precision CNC milling applications including mold and die work, cavity profiling, and finishing passes in tight geometries. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard toolholders and collet chucks common in vertical machining centers and high-speed spindle setups. The 4 inch overall length provides reach for deeper cavity work without sacrificing rigidity. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, adding flexibility to the toolpath. Typical users include tool and die machinists, mold makers, and CNC programmers working in steel, stainless, and hardened materials.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with standard 1/4 inch collet or toolholder systems. Suitable for milling steel, stainless steel, hardened materials, and other demanding workpiece materials where AlTiN coating performance is beneficial.
Install in a clean, properly sized collet or shrink-fit toolholder to ensure concentricity and minimize runout. Secure to the recommended gauge length and verify tool projection before beginning a cut. Use appropriate CNC feeds and speeds for the material and coating — consult the manufacturer cutting data for AlTiN-coated carbide end mills. Inspect the cutting edges before use; carbide end mills are brittle and should not be dropped or struck.
