The ACCUPRO 12180936 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling of contoured surfaces, slots, and complex 3D profiles in demanding machining environments. With a 1/32 inch (0.0313 inch) mill diameter and a matching 1/32 inch length of cut, this tool is built for fine-detail work where accuracy at small scales is critical. The AlTiN coating provides high heat resistance and extended tool life when cutting hardened steels, stainless, and other tough alloys. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. This is a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool manufactured from micrograin solid carbide for rigidity and edge retention in high-speed CNC applications.
This ball end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines across aerospace, die and mold, and precision job shop environments. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and ER-style toolholders common in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The 4 inch overall length provides clearance for moderate-depth features while keeping the tool assembly rigid. It is intended for finish milling, profiling, and contouring passes on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces where a small-diameter ball profile is required.
Designed for use in CNC milling machines equipped with collets or toolholders accepting a 1/4 inch shank diameter. Suitable for finish milling and profiling operations on ferrous metals, hardened steels, and similar materials where AlTiN coating performance is required.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder to the recommended engagement depth per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cutting pass, as excessive runout at this diameter will significantly reduce tool life and surface finish quality.
