The ACCUPRO 12180455 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in CNC machining centers and manual mills. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance required for aggressive material removal and fine finishing passes. The AlTiN coating extends tool life in high-heat cutting environments. With a 0.5-inch cutting diameter, 2-inch length of cut, and a 40-degree helix angle, this end mill is suited for deep-slot milling, profiling, and peripheral cutting where chip evacuation and surface finish both matter. Machinists and CNC operators in production shops and job shops reach for this geometry when cutting steel, stainless, and hardened alloys.
This end mill is appropriate for general-purpose milling applications in both production and prototype environments. It fits a 0.5-inch collet or end mill holder and is compatible with vertical machining centers, horizontal mills, and manual knee mills. The 4-inch overall length provides clearance for moderate-depth applications without sacrificing rigidity. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, making it suitable for pocket milling without pre-drilling. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC setups.
Designed for use in any standard 0.5-inch end mill holder, collet chuck, or shrink-fit toolholder on CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 0.5-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer and torque the retention screw or collet nut per toolholder specifications. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use; do not use chipped or damaged end mills.
