The ACCUPRO 12179959 is a single-end ball end mill designed for precision milling of contoured surfaces, 3D profiles, and complex geometries. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention required in demanding metal-cutting applications. The cutting end measures 0.625 inches in diameter with a 1.25-inch length of cut, and the tool carries an AlTiN coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. Three right-hand spiral flutes with a 35-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users of this end mill in CNC machining centers.
This end mill is suited for finish and semi-finish milling operations in vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers. Typical applications include mold and die work, contour profiling, and pocket milling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous workpiece materials. The AlTiN coating makes it a practical choice in dry or minimal-lubrication machining environments where heat buildup is a concern. The 3.5-inch overall length and 0.625-inch shank diameter accommodate standard ER and side-lock toolholders common in production shops.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers accepting a 0.625-inch straight shank; compatible with standard ER collet chucks, milling chucks, and side-lock toolholders sized for 0.625-inch shank end mills.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC tooling setup. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before loading or removing the tool. Verify toolholder runout and clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before initiating a cut. Do not exceed the tool's rated depth of cut or engage the full length of cut in a single roughing pass without confirming appropriate feeds and speeds for the workpiece material.
