The ACCUPRO 12179769 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built from micrograin carbide with an AlTiN finish, this tool handles elevated cutting temperatures and abrasive workpiece materials without rapid edge degradation. The 1-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 3-3/8-inch length of cut, making it well suited for deep-pocket and slotting operations where standard-length tools fall short. Three spiral flutes at a 40-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. Installed by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments alike, this end mill is a reliable choice for extended-reach milling work.
This end mill is intended for use in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills equipped with appropriate collet or end mill holders accepting a 1-inch straight shank. Its long-flute configuration suits deep cavity milling, tall workpiece features, and side-wall finishing. Right-hand cut with right-hand flute direction is standard for conventional and climb milling on most machine setups. Applications include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other ferrous and hard nonferrous alloys where AlTiN coating provides a thermal barrier and wear resistance advantage over uncoated tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 1-inch bore collets, shrink-fit holders, and end mill adapters on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following machine tool builder guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked before tool changes. Seat the shank fully into the holder and confirm runout with a dial indicator before production cuts. Follow shop-standard speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type; do not exceed machine or toolholder rated RPM.
