The ACCUPRO 12179362 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining applications. It features a 1/4 inch mill diameter, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.0100 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge and extends tool life in hardened and abrasive materials. The AlTiN coating provides high heat resistance and hardness, making this end mill well suited for dry or near-dry cutting in ferrous metals, hardened steels, and high-temperature alloys. Machinists and CNC operators in production and job shop environments install this tool in standard 1/4 inch collet or end mill holders.
This end mill is intended for use in milling operations that require a controlled corner radius profile, including slot milling, shoulder milling, and contour work in metals and hard materials. The 3-flute geometry balances chip evacuation with cutting edge strength, making it a practical choice for both roughing and semi-finishing passes in ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide corner radius end mill for standard 1/4 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Before mounting or removing any end mill, ensure the spindle is fully stopped, the machine is in an e-stop or lockout condition, and power is off per shop safety procedures. Use a calibrated torque wrench and the appropriate collet or end mill holder rated for 1/4 inch shank tooling. Inspect the shank and holder bore for contamination or damage before seating the tool to maintain runout within acceptable tolerances.
