The ACCUPRO 12179347 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal-cutting and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this single-end tool features a 3/16 inch mill diameter, a 0.01 inch corner radius, and 3 right-hand spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle. The centercutting geometry allows both plunge and peripheral cutting. At 2 inches overall length with a 3/8 inch length of cut, it suits tight-tolerance profiling, slotting, and contouring work on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The bright/uncoated finish makes it well suited for non-ferrous metals and certain ferrous alloys where coating adhesion is not required.
This end mill is intended for machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working on precision components. Its corner radius geometry reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and produces a radiused inside corner in the workpiece, which is a common requirement in mold making, die work, and precision component machining. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral are standard for conventional CNC vertical milling setups. The 3/16 inch shank diameter matches the mill diameter, simplifying tool holding in standard ER collet chucks or end mill holders.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills accepting a 3/16 inch shank diameter in standard collet or end mill holder systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the collet or tool holder to avoid runout and pull-out under cutting loads. Verify tool runout with a dial indicator before beginning a precision operation, and confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter before engaging the cut.
