The ACCUPRO 12179337 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting and machining environments. It features a 3/8 inch diameter, a 7/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.015 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations and extends tool life compared to sharp-cornered end mills. With 3 flutes and a right-hand spiral flute geometry, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and a smooth cutting action. The bright/uncoated finish suits general-purpose machining where coating is not required. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, tool rooms, and manufacturing facilities are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and contouring cuts in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a small corner radius is specified. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as side milling. The 3/8 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and milling machine spindles. The 2.5 inch overall length provides adequate reach for most standard workpiece setups without sacrificing rigidity. Micrograin carbide construction supports use at higher speeds and feeds than high-speed steel alternatives.
Designed as a standard 3/8 inch shank corner radius end mill compatible with ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and milling machine spindles accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered off and spindle fully stopped. Ensure the collet or tool holder is clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to confirm concentricity within acceptable limits for the application. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and tooling manufacturer recommendations for speed, feed, and depth of cut for the specific workpiece material.
