The ACCUPRO 12179336 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 1/4 inch diameter with a 0.01 inch corner radius, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and 3 flutes arranged in a right-hand spiral configuration. The tool is coated with AlTiN (Aluminum Titanium Nitride), which provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in dry or high-speed cutting conditions. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With a 2-1/2 inch overall length and a 1/4 inch shank diameter, this single-end, centercutting design is ready for direct installation into standard collet or end mill holders. Micrograin carbide construction supports tight tolerances and consistent performance across demanding materials.
This end mill is suited for finish milling, profiling, slotting, and contouring operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, making it useful in both open-pocket and ramping applications. The AlTiN coating makes it well-suited for harder alloys, stainless steels, and high-temperature materials where heat buildup at the cutting edge is a concern. Machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC operators working in job shop or production environments will find this tool appropriate for high-precision, tight-tolerance work where corner geometry control is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide corner radius end mill compatible with standard 1/4 inch collet holders, end mill holders, and ER-style collet chucks used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention mechanism according to the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a tight-tolerance tool of this diameter.
