The ACCUPRO 12178957 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. Built from micrograin carbide with an AlTiN coating, it handles hard materials and elevated cutting temperatures better than uncoated or HSS alternatives. The 1/64 inch cutting diameter, 30-degree helix, and four spiral flutes make this tool well-suited for fine detail work, micro-slot cutting, and contouring in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional CNC and manual milling setups. Licensed machinists, tool and die makers, and precision shop technicians are the primary users.
This end mill is intended for light-duty, high-precision milling passes where dimensional accuracy is critical. Its 1/32 inch length of cut and 1/8 inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard collets and end mill holders found on CNC machining centers, CNC routers, and manual knee mills. It is suited for milling small features in mold cavities, PCB components, medical parts, and aerospace details where small-diameter tooling is required. The regular-length configuration keeps deflection manageable at this diameter.
Designed for use with 1/8 inch collets or end mill holders on CNC machining centers, CNC routers, and manual milling machines where small-diameter solid carbide tooling is required.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and at rest before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully in a matching collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware to the machine manufacturer's specification. At this diameter, minimize runout as closely as possible — even small amounts of radial runout significantly reduce tool life and dimensional accuracy.
