The ACCUPRO 12178841 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision metal removal in milling operations. It features a 0.25 inch cutting diameter, a 1.25 inch length of cut, and a 3.0 inch overall length with a 0.25 inch shank. The 2-flute spiral geometry runs a 40-degree helix angle, optimizing chip evacuation and surface finish in a wide range of materials. The nACRo coating adds wear resistance and thermal stability, extending tool life in demanding cutting conditions. This tool is centercutting, allowing plunge entry, and runs right-hand cut with right-hand flute direction. Micrograin carbide construction provides the toughness and edge retention required for high-speed finish work.
This end mill suits CNC machining centers and manual knee mills in job shop, production, and maintenance environments. It is well suited for slotting, profiling, and plunging operations on ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The 2-flute configuration provides adequate chip clearance for slotting passes where full-width engagement is required. The compact 0.25 inch diameter and extended 1.25 inch length of cut make it practical for narrow pockets and detailed profile work where a larger tool cannot reach.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitute for 0.25 inch shank square end mills used in standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and set-screw style toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out before tooling changes. Ensure the shank seating depth meets the toolholder minimum engagement requirement and that set screws or collet nuts are torqued per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the collet or bore for chips or damage before seating the shank. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and tool diameter.
