The ACCUPRO 12178819 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It features a 7/16-inch cutting diameter, a 2-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length with a matching 7/16-inch shank. The nACRo finish (nanocomposite aluminum-chromium-based coating) provides elevated heat resistance and wear performance compared to uncoated carbide. The micrograin carbide substrate supports higher feed rates and maintains edge integrity under demanding cut conditions. Two flutes with a 40-degree spiral helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation. This is a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration. Installation and use are handled by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This end mill suits general milling, slotting, profiling, and plunge cutting applications in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. It is suited for shop work involving steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and comparable alloys. The 40-degree helix angle makes it particularly effective in medium-to-hard ferrous materials where chip thinning and reduced cutting forces are priorities. Single-piece solid carbide construction eliminates insert-related runout variation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 7/16-inch straight shank toolholder.
End mills must be installed by qualified machinists following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into a collet or end-mill holder and torque the drawbar or set screws according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts.
