The ACCUPRO 12178776 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 5/64 inch (0.0781 inch) cutting diameter and a 5/32 inch (0.1562 inch) length of cut, this stub-length tool delivers rigidity in tight clearance applications. The TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating improves wear resistance and reduces built-up edge, extending tool life in production environments. The 30-degree spiral flute geometry and right-hand cut with right-hand flute orientation produce clean chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and CNC operators install this end mill in machining centers and milling machines for slotting, profiling, and plunge operations.
This end mill is suited for use in both manual and CNC milling setups where small-diameter, high-precision cutting is required. The centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without pre-drilling. The micrograin carbide substrate supports high-speed machining and maintains edge integrity under demanding cutting conditions. Typical applications include mold making, die work, aerospace component machining, and detailed part features in steel, stainless, cast iron, and hardened materials.
Designed as a standard 1/8 inch shank square end mill compatible with collets, chucks, and toolholders accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation is performed by machinists using a collet or end mill holder rated for the 1/8 inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the tool. Apply proper runout checks after seating the tool to confirm concentricity within acceptable tolerance. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling supplier guidelines for speeds and feeds appropriate to the workpiece material and cut depth.
