The ACCUPRO 12177637 is a solid carbide tapered ball end mill designed for precision milling of contoured surfaces, complex 3D profiles, and hard-to-reach cavities. With a 3/32 inch small end diameter and a 5-degree taper angle per side, this tool produces smooth, consistent tapered walls and radiused floors in a single pass. The ball end geometry with a 3/64 inch nose radius is suited for finishing operations where accurate surface form is critical. Three right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and reduce chatter. The micrograin carbide substrate provides hardness and wear resistance for demanding milling applications in steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers for die and mold work, aerospace components, medical parts, and general precision machining where tapered or draft-angle features are required. The 1/4 inch shank fits standard collets and end mill holders commonly found on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The 3/4 inch length of cut allows moderate depth engagement on tapered profiles. At 2-1/2 inches overall length, the tool provides enough reach for typical cavity milling while maintaining rigidity. Machinists use this cutter for semi-finishing and finishing passes rather than heavy roughing operations.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with standard 1/4 inch collets or end mill holders. Suitable for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials where tapered ball end geometry is required.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom personnel. Secure the 1/4 inch shank in a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder and torque to the holder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges and nose radius for chips or wear before mounting. Program feeds and speeds appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut; do not exceed the recommended length of cut engagement of 3/4 inch.
