The ACCUPRO 12177555 is a solid carbide tapered ball end mill designed for precision milling of contoured surfaces, deep-cavity work, and complex 3D profiles. It features a 0.5-degree taper angle per side with a 1/8-inch small end diameter and a 1/2-inch length of cut. The ball end geometry with a 1/16-inch nose radius allows smooth finishing passes in molds, dies, and sculpted workpieces. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers rigidity and wear resistance in demanding CNC machining applications. The uncoated finish suits a range of materials where coating buildup or heat sensitivity is a concern. This tool is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This tapered ball end mill is suited for 3-axis and multi-axis CNC milling machines handling detailed contouring, rib milling, and finishing operations in mold-making, die work, and precision part manufacturing. The 3/16-inch shank diameter fits standard collet systems. Its right-hand flute direction and 30-degree helix angle promote smooth chip evacuation during finish cuts. The 2-inch overall length provides adequate reach for moderate-depth cavity work without sacrificing rigidity.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with collet systems accepting a 3/16-inch shank diameter. Typical applications include mold, die, and precision component machining where tapered ball end geometry is required.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or unloading the tool. Secure the 3/16-inch shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and tighten to the machine manufacturer's specified torque using the appropriate wrench. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and confirm runout is within acceptable limits before beginning a cut.
