The ACCUPRO 12177545 is a solid carbide tapered end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring angled wall profiles and tight tolerances. With a 10-degree taper angle per side and a 3/32-inch small end diameter, this tool generates clean, accurate tapered features in molds, dies, and complex machined components. The 1-1/2-inch length of cut and 5/8-inch shank diameter provide rigidity and reach where both matter. Three right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation. Micrograin carbide construction supports longer tool life and dimensional consistency across production runs. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install and run this tool in vertical and horizontal machining centers.
This tapered end mill is suited for die and mold work, aerospace component machining, and any application requiring precise tapered pockets or walls in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The square end geometry allows it to reach into corners and produce flat-bottomed features at the end of a tapered profile. The uncoated finish makes it a practical choice for shops running aluminum, brass, or other non-ferrous materials where coating adhesion or chemical reaction is a concern. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry when the operation requires it.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit tapered end mill for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 5/8-inch straight shank tool holder or collet.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked before loading or changing tooling. Seat the 5/8-inch shank fully and evenly in the tool holder or collet and torque the retention system per the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning any cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
