The ACCUPRO 12177533 is a solid carbide tapered end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring a controlled taper angle. Built from micrograin carbide, it offers a 5-degree taper per side with a 1/4-inch small end diameter and a 3/4-inch shank diameter. The three-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With a 2.25-inch length of cut and 5-inch overall length, this end mill handles deep-reach applications while maintaining rigidity. The square end configuration and centercutting capability allow plunge entries and profile milling. It runs uncoated, making it well suited for use with cutting fluids or in applications where coating buildup is a concern.
This tapered end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills where draft angles, die cavities, dovetail approaches, and tapered wall features are required. The solid carbide construction performs well in ferrous and non-ferrous materials including steel, aluminum, and cast iron. The 5-degree-per-side taper makes it a practical choice for mold and die work, pattern machining, and complex 3D profiling where angular walls must be held to tight tolerances. It is intended for professional machinists and toolroom environments operating production or prototype work.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide tapered end mill suitable for standard CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 3/4-inch round shank tool holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Secure the 3/4-inch shank in a collet chuck or end mill holder rated for the intended spindle speed, ensuring proper tool stick-out does not exceed application requirements. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts. Do not exceed the manufacturer-recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
