The ACCUPRO 12177482 is a solid carbide tapered end mill designed for precision milling operations where consistent taper geometry and fine surface finish are required. It features a 2-degree taper angle per side, a 3/32 inch small end diameter, and a 1-1/4 inch length of cut. The micrograin carbide construction provides hardness and wear resistance suited to demanding milling applications. With 3 right-hand spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle and a square end profile, this tool is centercutting and capable of plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling. Machinists and toolroom professionals working on CNC machining centers or manual mills are the primary users of this tool.
This tapered end mill is suited for milling tapered slots, die cavities, draft-angle features, and similar contoured geometries in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The uncoated micrograin carbide substrate performs well in materials where coating adhesion or thermal mismatch is a concern. The 3/16 inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders on light-duty CNC or manual milling equipment. It is commonly used in toolroom, prototype, and production environments where tight taper tolerances and clean square-end finishes are required.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide tapered end mill for use in standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 3/16 inch shank diameter on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated. Ensure the collet chuck or end mill holder is clean and free of chips before seating the 3/16 inch shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to protect the small-diameter cutting end from premature breakage. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling supplier guidelines for recommended speeds and feeds when using solid carbide end mills.
