The ACCUPRO 12177292 is a single-end ball end mill designed for precision milling of complex contours, curved surfaces, and die-work profiles. Ground from micrograin solid carbide, it measures 0.0472 inches (1.20 mm) in diameter with a matching 0.0472-inch (1.20 mm) length of cut. The 6 mm shank and 57 mm overall length with a 20 mm reach length make this tool suited for deep-reach finishing passes in tight cavities. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and hardness for extended tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction at a 30-degree helix angle optimize chip evacuation and surface finish on two-flute geometry.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers for high-precision milling of mold cavities, core details, and fine-feature finishing in ferrous alloys, stainless steels, titanium, and hardened steels. The extended reach design and reduced neck diameter of 1.15 mm allow access to deep pockets where standard-length tools cannot reach. Typical applications include die and mold shops, aerospace component machining, and precision part manufacturing where tight tolerances and fine surface finishes are required.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with ER or similar collet systems accepting a 6 mm shank diameter. Suitable for milling ferrous alloys, hardened steels, stainless steels, and titanium with appropriate feeds and speeds for the 1.20 mm diameter.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the controller in a safe state. Use a calibrated collet and toolholder in good condition to minimize runout, which is critical at this diameter. Verify tool projection and reach clearance before running the program. Micrograin carbide tools at this diameter are brittle and susceptible to chipping from excessive feed rates, interrupted cuts, or improper fixturing.
