The ACCUPRO 12177283 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling of contoured surfaces, 3D profiles, and fine detail work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 1.00 mm (0.0394 inch) cutting diameter and a matching 1.00 mm length of cut, this is a micro-geometry tool built for tight-tolerance applications. The 6.00 mm shank provides rigid clamping in standard collets while the extended-reach configuration allows access to deeper features. Micrograin carbide construction delivers the hardness and edge retention needed for high-speed, low-feed micro-milling operations. Installed by machinists and toolroom professionals on CNC machining centers and die/mold equipment.
This end mill is well suited for die and mold work, prototype machining, and detailed finish passes in tight cavities where a standard short-reach tool cannot reach the workpiece. The 30-degree helix angle provides a balance of cutting efficiency and chip evacuation at the small diameters involved. The 0.95 mm neck diameter and 11.00 mm reach length allow the tool to step down into recessed pockets without shank contact. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with conventional CNC spindle rotation. Single-end configuration means the tool is replaced rather than reversed when worn.
Designed as a standard-geometry single-end ball nose end mill with a 6.00 mm shank, compatible with ER-style collet chucks and shrink-fit holders sized for 6 mm shank tooling on CNC milling machines and machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool builder guidelines for tool clamping torque and runout tolerance. Ensure the collet and holder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. At this cutting diameter, even minor runout will significantly affect tool life and surface finish, so verify total indicator runout at setup. Do not exceed the manufacturer-specified depth of cut or feed rate for micro-diameter carbide tooling, as overload will cause immediate tool fracture.
