The ACCUPRO 12177096 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and engineered materials. It features a 7/8-inch cutting diameter, a 1-3/4-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length with a matching 7/8-inch straight shank. The four-flute, right-hand spiral geometry runs at a 40-degree helix angle, which helps balance chip evacuation with cutting stability. Micrograin carbide construction delivers hardness and wear resistance suited to demanding shop-floor conditions. This end mill is centercutting, meaning it can be plunged directly into a workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The uncoated finish makes it a practical choice for applications where a specific coating is not required or where re-sharpening is planned. It is a single-end tool typically installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance departments. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for the majority of vertical and horizontal milling setups.
Designed as a standard straight-shank end mill for use in any milling machine or CNC machining center that accepts a 7/8-inch shank via collet, end mill holder, or set-screw adapter.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine powered down and locked out per applicable shop safety procedures. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the retention screw or collet nut to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges and shank for runout before engaging the workpiece. Proper speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material should be calculated before cutting.
