The ACCUPRO 12176773 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride), it delivers the hardness and wear resistance required for high-feed roughing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The 1-inch cutting diameter paired with three right-hand flutes and a coarse-pitch chipbreaker geometry breaks chips efficiently, reducing recutting and heat buildup. With a 1.75-inch length of cut and a 4-inch overall length, this tool is sized for standard roughing applications on vertical and horizontal machining centers. It is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry where needed.
This roughing end mill is intended for production and job-shop environments where rapid stock removal is the priority before finish passes. The chipbreaker profile along the flutes divides chips into shorter segments, which is especially useful when cutting deeper slots or full-width passes in steel, stainless, cast iron, or aluminum. The 1-inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter, making it compatible with standard ER and side-lock toolholders rated for 1-inch shanks. It is suited for use on CNC machining centers with adequate spindle horsepower to take advantage of the coarse-pitch geometry.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit roughing tool for CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with 1-inch diameter toolholders. Compatible with ER collet chucks, Weldon side-lock holders, and hydraulic chucks sized for a 1-inch shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for toolholder torque and runout tolerance. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Confirm proper stick-out length to minimize deflection during aggressive roughing passes. Always verify spindle direction and programmed feed and speed parameters before initiating the first cut.
