The ACCUPRO 12176739 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. It features a 5/16 inch cutting diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 5/16 inch shank diameter, with an overall length of 2-1/2 inches. The three-flute geometry and 30-degree helix angle support efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. A titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating increases surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in abrasive materials. This is a single-end, center-cutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into a workpiece. It is suited for machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working in production or job shop settings.
This end mill is appropriate for milling slots, pockets, and profiles in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The coarse pitch, right-hand cut, and right-hand flute configuration make it compatible with standard vertical and horizontal milling machines as well as CNC machining centers. The center-cutting design allows for ramping and direct plunge entry, adding versatility to common milling programs. It is a regular-length tool, well-suited to general-purpose material removal where extended reach is not required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for use in vertical milling machines, horizontal mills, and CNC machining centers accepting a 5/16 inch shank diameter collet or end mill holder.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and verify runout before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the manufacturer-recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material and coating type. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use.
