The ABBOTT WORKHOLDING PRODUCTS KTT15A is a serrated soft lathe chuck jaw machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, designed for use in 3-jaw lathe chuck setups on manual and CNC turning equipment. Soft jaws are machinable to a custom bore, allowing the tech or machinist to fit the jaw precisely to a workpiece profile. The serrated interface locks into the chuck body securely, resisting jaw shift under cutting loads. At 6.5 inches overall length and 2.5 inches overall width, this jaw suits a broad range of chuck diameters from 15 inches up to 18 inches. Weight is 13.2 pounds per set. Sold as a 3-jaw set, one unit per package.
This jaw set is appropriate for light to medium turning operations in production and job-shop environments where repeatable part holding is required. The aluminum construction keeps rotational mass low, which is useful on high-cycle applications where chuck balance and spindle load matter. The serrated interface style is the standard fitment on most mid-to-large diameter lathe chucks used in metal fabrication, repair shops, and industrial maintenance turning. The machinable aluminum face allows the installer to bore the jaw to a specific diameter or contour without specialized tooling beyond standard lathe tooling already on hand.
Designed for use with lathe chucks having a compatible chuck diameter range of 15 inches to 18 inches and a serrated jaw interface with a groove width of 0.8661 inches and mount hole center spacing of 1.6929 inches. Verify chuck jaw interface dimensions before ordering.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the lathe spindle before removing or installing chuck jaws. Confirm that the serrated interface seats fully and that all fasteners are torqued uniformly before resuming spindle operation. After installation, bore the soft jaws in place on the chuck to achieve true concentricity before clamping a workpiece.
