The ABB thql1120dx is a dual function circuit breaker rated at 20 amps, 1 pole, and 120 volts AC. It provides both AFCI (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter) and GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) protection in a single plug-in unit, meeting NEC code requirements for combination-type protection in residential and light commercial applications. The breaker carries a 10 kA interrupt rating and is designed for use in THQL-compatible load centers. Licensed electricians install this device as a direct code-compliant upgrade or replacement in branch circuit panelboards.
This breaker is suited for residential branch circuits requiring dual-function protection, including bedroom circuits, kitchen circuits, and other locations where both arc fault and ground fault protection are mandated by the National Electrical Code. Its plug-in connection type allows straightforward installation in compatible load centers without requiring adapter hardware. The 14 to 8 AWG wire size range accommodates standard residential branch circuit conductors.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for THQL-compatible residential and light commercial panelboards accepting 1-pole plug-in circuit breakers.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the panel and verify absence of voltage before handling any breaker or bussing. Follow the manufacturer wiring diagram for proper neutral and ground connections, as dual function breakers require a dedicated neutral pigtail connection to operate correctly. Do not exceed the conductor size range of 14 to 8 AWG on the load terminal.
