The ABB thn3362 is a heavy-duty, nonfusible safety switch rated for 60 amps, 3 poles, and 600 volts AC. It is housed in a NEMA 1 enclosure designed for indoor installations. The switch serves as a disconnect means for motors, HVAC equipment, and other electrical loads in commercial and industrial settings. Licensed electricians install this switch as part of a compliant NEC disconnect assembly. At 15 pounds and measuring 17.60 inches tall by 9.40 inches wide, it is a substantial unit built for demanding service. The nonfusible design means overcurrent protection must be provided upstream by a separate fused disconnect or breaker.
This safety switch is suited for light commercial and heavy industrial applications where a reliable manual disconnect is required. Typical installations include motor disconnects, HVAC rooftop unit disconnects, and panel feeder isolation in manufacturing facilities, processing plants, and commercial buildings. The 3-pole configuration supports three-phase loads, and the switch is rated across a range of horsepower values at multiple voltage levels, making it adaptable to a wide variety of motor and equipment installations. Wire range is accepted for conductors sized 12 AWG through 2 AWG in copper or aluminum.
Designed as an OEM-style heavy-duty safety switch for use as a motor or equipment disconnect in commercial and industrial electrical systems wired per NEC requirements. Horsepower ratings include up to 10 hp at 240 volts AC single-phase, 20 hp at 240 volts AC three-phase, 20 hp at 480 volts AC single-phase, 50 hp at 480 volts AC three-phase, 25 hp at 600 volts AC single-phase, 60 hp at 600 volts AC three-phase, and 10 hp at 250 volts DC.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the upstream circuit before beginning installation. Verify that the incoming supply voltage and amperage match the switch ratings before making any connections. The NEMA 1 enclosure is rated for indoor use only and must not be installed in wet, damp, or outdoor locations without additional enclosure protection.
