The ABB stg3-g is a threaded, PVC-coated zinc ground hub designed for use with rigid conduit in electrical raceway installations. The hub features a dark gray PVC coating over a zinc body for corrosion resistance, a Nitrile Buna-N sealing ring for a weathertight connection, and a thermoplastic insulated throat. It measures 2 inches in diameter by 1.81 inches in length with a 1-inch trade size and carries a UL 94 approval rating. A locknut bonding and grounding screw is built in to ensure a reliable ground path at the panel enclosure entry point. Licensed electricians and conduit installers use this fitting in industrial and commercial applications where corrosion resistance and a secure ground bond are required.
This hub is suited for rigid conduit terminations at enclosures, panels, and junction boxes where maximum panel thickness does not exceed 0.25 inches. The 1-inch trade size corresponds to a throat diameter of 1 inch and a pipe size of 1 inch, compatible with standard rigid metal conduit of that trade size. Its temperature rating of 105 degrees C makes it appropriate for installations subject to elevated ambient temperatures. The dark gray PVC coating is the identifying characteristic of the Ocal-Blue product line, which targets environments with exposure to moisture, chemicals, or corrosive atmospheres.
Designed for use with 1-inch trade size rigid metal conduit. Maximum compatible panel thickness is 0.25 inches. Suitable for standard rigid conduit terminations at metallic enclosures and panels.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the panel or enclosure before installing or replacing conduit hubs. The hub threads onto the conduit end and the locknut is tightened against the enclosure wall; the bonding and grounding screw must be tightened to establish the ground bond. Do not exceed the maximum panel thickness of 0.25 inches, as proper engagement of the sealing ring and locknut depends on this dimension.
