The ABB 2200 is a liquidtight strain relief cord connector designed to secure and protect electrical cords where they enter enclosures, junction boxes, or conduit fittings. Built from malleable iron with a neoprene bushing, this connector provides mechanical strain relief and a watertight seal around the cord jacket. The 45-degree bend angle is suited for installations where a straight entry is not practical. The 1/2 inch NPT thread allows direct installation into standard knockout fittings. This connector meets Coast Guard CG293 requirements, making it appropriate for marine and industrial environments. It is installed by licensed electricians and marine electrical technicians during new construction or retrofit work.
The ABB 2200 is used in industrial, commercial, and marine electrical installations where cords must be secured at the point of entry into an enclosure or fitting. The 45-degree angle is commonly used in tight spaces or where cord routing requires an offset from the panel face. The accepted cord range of 0.125 to 0.250 inches accommodates a variety of small-gauge cord diameters. This connector is part of the T&B Cord Fittings family, MSG-45 Series, and is sold as an individual unit.
Designed as an OEM-style strain relief fitting for use with standard 1/2 inch NPT threaded enclosure knockouts in industrial, commercial, and marine electrical installations where the cord diameter falls within 0.125 to 0.250 inches.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize all circuits before working on any enclosure or fitting. Thread the connector into the 1/2 inch NPT knockout and tighten the locknut until the neoprene bushing firmly grips the cord jacket without cutting into it. Do not over-tighten, as excessive force can damage the neoprene bushing and compromise the liquidtight seal.
