The ABB 14RB-8 is an insulated ring terminal designed for use with 16 to 14 AWG wire. Ring terminals provide a secure, low-resistance connection between a wire and a threaded stud or screw. The insulated sleeve protects the crimp zone from moisture, abrasion, and accidental contact with adjacent conductors. Electricians and panel technicians use ring terminals during control panel assembly, equipment wiring, and field termination work where a captive, vibration-resistant connection is required.
The 14RB-8 is suited for residential and commercial electrical installations where 16 to 14 AWG conductors must be terminated at a number 8 stud. Typical applications include control wiring in HVAC equipment, motor control centers, junction boxes, and electrical panels. The insulated design makes it appropriate for low-voltage control circuits as well as line-voltage branch circuit terminations.
Designed as an OEM-style insulated ring terminal for use with 16 to 14 AWG conductors terminated at number 8 studs in residential and commercial electrical, HVAC control, and panel wiring applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before making any terminations. Use a calibrated ratchet crimp tool rated for insulated terminals to ensure a full, consistent crimp on the wire conductor. Do not use pliers or non-ratcheting tools, as an incomplete crimp can result in high resistance or pull-out failure at the connection point.
