The 3M 7100334340 is the Cubitron 3 Fibre Disc 1182C, a coated abrasive disc built around re-engineered Precision Shaped Grain technology. Measuring 4-1/2 inches in diameter and rated at 13,300 RPM, this disc is designed for heavy grinding tasks including weld removal, beveling, and stock removal on mild and carbon steels. The proprietary grain geometry fractures continuously to maintain sharp cutting points throughout the disc life, which translates to faster cut rates and more consistent wear compared to conventional fiber discs or depressed-center grinding wheels. Fabricators, welders, and metal finishing professionals install this disc on angle grinders for both manual and automated grinding operations.
This disc is suited for medium to high-pressure grinding applications in fabrication shops, structural steel work, and robotic weld grinding cells. It is designed to reduce hand-arm vibration exposure during manual use and to maintain throughput consistency in automated processes. According to 3M data, it delivers up to 60% more total material removed compared to the 3M Cubitron II Fibre Disc 982C at 36-plus grit, along with up to 51% faster initial cut rate and up to 61% faster sustained cut rate versus that same predecessor disc. The stiff fiber backing and strong resin bond resist tearing under aggressive grinding loads.
Designed as an OEM-grade coated abrasive disc for use on 4-1/2 inch angle grinders capable of supporting fiber disc arbor attachments and rated for operation at or above 13,300 RPM.
This disc is installed and serviced by metalworkers, fabricators, and industrial maintenance technicians. Before mounting or removing the disc, power down and fully unplug or lock out the grinder per OSHA lockout/tagout requirements. Verify the grinder speed rating meets or exceeds the 13,300 RPM rating of the disc before operation. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and do not use damaged or deformed discs.
