The 3M 7100331749 is a TR quick-change ceramic abrasive disc from the Cubitron 3 series 1187C, designed for aggressive material removal on stainless steel, nickel alloys, and other heat-sensitive metals. The disc measures 3 inches in diameter and carries a 36-grit extra-coarse ceramic abrasive on a closed-coat YF-weight fiber backing. Ceramic abrasive grain self-sharpens during use, maintaining a consistent cut rate without loading. An additional coating reduces surface temperatures at the workpiece, making this disc well-suited for metals that are prone to heat discoloration or metallurgical change during grinding. Maximum operating speed is 20,000 RPM. Sold in a 50-pack.
This disc is used in fabrication and maintenance environments where stainless steel, nickel alloys, cobalt, Inconel, titanium, and chrome workpieces require heavy stock removal or weld blending. The TR quick-change attachment system allows fast disc swaps without tools, reducing downtime during high-volume grinding operations. The rigid fiber backing supports edge work and flat-surface grinding in both shop and field applications. Typical users include pipe fabricators, structural welders, and maintenance technicians working with exotic or corrosion-resistant alloys.
Designed for use with TR quick-change right-angle grinders and die grinders. Suitable for grinding stainless steel, nickel alloys, cobalt, Inconel, titanium, and chrome workpieces.
Installation and disc changes must be performed with the grinder powered off and disconnected from its power source. Verify the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the 20,000 RPM maximum operating speed rating of the disc before use. Wear appropriate PPE including a face shield, gloves, and hearing protection during grinding operations. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and discard any disc that shows cracking, tearing, or delamination.
