The 3M 7100284211 is a 5-inch PSA-backed abrasive cloth disc engineered for high-production sanding on demanding substrates. It uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain, a proprietary ceramic mineral cut into a triangular shape that slices through material rather than gouging or plowing like conventional abrasives. The result is a disc that cuts up to two times faster than standard abrasive discs. The J-weight cloth backing provides strong tear resistance and durability, delivering a consistent, uniform finish across multiple material types. A static-resistant coating helps manage dust during sanding, and resin bonding adds heat resistance for sustained use in production environments.
This disc is suited for both residential and light commercial shop environments and is used primarily by finishing tradespeople, woodworkers, fabricators, and metalworkers. Designed for use on aluminum, fiberglass, gelcoat, hardwood, softwood, metal, stainless steel, and solid surfaces, it handles both heavy stock removal and finish work. The pressure-sensitive adhesive backing attaches directly to a compatible 3M Stikita disc pad without tools, making disc changes fast during continuous-use applications. A protective liner keeps the adhesive clean and tacky until the disc is ready to be applied.
Designed for use with 3M Stikita disc pads that accept 5-inch PSA-backed abrasive cloth discs. Compatible substrates include aluminum, fiberglass, gelcoat, hardwood, softwood, metal, stainless steel, and solid surfaces.
Peel the protective liner from the adhesive backing and press the disc firmly onto a clean, dry Stikita disc pad before use. Power down or disconnect the sanding tool before mounting or removing any abrasive disc. Inspect the disc pad surface for contamination prior to application to ensure proper adhesion. Follow applicable shop safety and PPE requirements when working with abrasive tools on metal or composite substrates.
