The 3M 7100199200 is a Cubitron II 966F ceramic abrasive cloth belt engineered for aggressive material removal and surface finishing on metal. Built with precision shaped ceramic grain bonded to a water-resistant polyester Y-weight cloth backing, this belt cuts fast and runs cool to avoid discoloring the workpiece. At 132 inches long and 4 inches wide with a 20 grit designation, it is sized for wide belt and industrial grinding applications where stock removal rate and finish consistency matter. Resin bond construction resists heat buildup during both wet and dry operations.
This belt is suited for grinding and finishing stainless steel, titanium, high-nickel alloys, and other hard-to-grind metals in fabrication, weld blending, and surface prep workflows. The Y-weight cloth backing handles high-tension belt machine setups in production environments. Compatible with liquid lubricants, it can be run wet to extend belt life and improve surface finish on heat-sensitive alloys. Typical users include metal fabricators, aerospace shops, and industrial maintenance technicians working with stationary wide-belt or contact-wheel grinders.
Designed for use on stainless steel, titanium, and high-nickel alloys; fits wide-belt and contact-wheel grinder configurations that accept a 132-inch by 4-inch abrasive belt.
Installation and belt changes should be performed by qualified personnel with the machine de-energized and locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify belt tracking and tension settings before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or edge damage before mounting. When running wet, ensure the lubricant is compatible with the workpiece material and the machine's belt-drive components.
