The 3M 7100194305 is the Cubitron II 984F abrasive cloth belt, engineered for high-production grinding on stainless steel, cobalt chrome, nickel alloys, and carbon steel. It features 3M Precision-Shaped Grain on a YF-weight polyester cloth backing with an integrated grinding aid. The grain structure continuously fractures to expose sharp cutting points, which sustains cut rate over the life of the belt. At 138 inches long and 6 inches wide with a 36 grit designation, this belt is sized for large-format belt grinders running medium to high contact pressure. It is suited for robotic and pressure-assisted grinding lines where consistent cut rate and extended belt life reduce unplanned changeovers.
This belt is designed for metalworking applications in fabrication shops, aerospace component finishing, and production grinding environments. It performs on stainless steel, exotic alloys, cobalt chrome, nickel alloys, and carbon steel. The YF-weight polyester backing holds up under the mechanical stress of medium to high pressure grinding. It is a strong fit for automated robotic grinding cells as well as manual pressure-assisted operations where heat control and surface integrity on heat-sensitive alloys are critical concerns.
Designed for use on large-format belt grinders in production metalworking and fabrication applications involving stainless steel, carbon steel, cobalt chrome, nickel alloys, and other exotic alloys requiring medium to high grinding pressure.
Belt installation and tensioning should be performed by a qualified grinding machine operator following the equipment manufacturer's specifications. Power down and lockout the grinder before mounting or removing the belt. Inspect the belt for damage before each use and confirm tracking alignment at low speed before applying full pressure. Proper machine guarding must be in place per applicable safety standards before operation.
