The 3M 7100192692 is a Scotch-Brite surface conditioning belt designed for detail work on a variety of metal surfaces. Built with a nonwoven open web construction and scrim backing, it delivers consistent results across tasks including blending, deburring, fine finishing, flat finishing, and attaining straightline-brushed finishes. The aluminum oxide abrasive mineral resists loading and minimizes heat build-up, allowing extended run time without sacrificing surface quality. This belt measures 42 inches in length and 3/8 inch in width, making it suited for narrow-profile belt tools used in fabrication and finishing applications.
This belt is used in metalworking environments where surface conditioning on contoured, edged, or flat workpieces is required. Typical applications include stainless steel finishing, setting the grain, cleaning scale and oxidation, removing grind lines and mill marks, and deburring edges. Its conformable construction makes it effective in robotic processing setups as well as manual handheld belt tools. It is commonly used by metal fabricators, weld finishers, and maintenance technicians working on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Designed for use with narrow-profile belt finishing tools that accept 42-inch by 3/8-inch abrasive belts in metal fabrication and surface conditioning applications.
Installation of abrasive belts should be performed by the tool operator following the belt tool manufacturer's guidelines for tracking and tensioning. Ensure the belt tool is powered off and unplugged before changing belts. Inspect the belt for tears or damage before use, and verify the tool's rated speed does not exceed the belt's maximum operating speed. Eye protection and appropriate PPE should be worn during operation.
