The 3M 7100188516 is a Scotch-Brite EXL Unitized Abrasive Wheel designed for smoothing, deburring, and finish work on metal alloys, plastics, and composites. The unitized, layered construction holds aluminum oxide abrasive mineral in a soft, conformable matrix that maintains consistent contact with the workpiece surface. At 6 inches in diameter and mounting on a 1/2-inch arbor, this wheel fits standard bench grinders and die grinders used in fabrication and finishing shops. The wheel resists smearing, minimizes heat build-up, and can run in either clockwise or counterclockwise rotation. Machinists, metal fabricators, and production finishing technicians are the primary users.
This wheel is suited for edge deburring, surface blending, and light finishing of metal alloys including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel, as well as many plastics and composite materials. The conformable construction makes it effective for contoured or complex-shaped parts, including those processed in robotic or automated finishing systems.
