The 3M 7100167044 is a blue quick splice tap connector designed for fast, tool-free wire tapping using insulation displacement contact (IDC) termination. The connector accepts a run wire and a tap wire simultaneously through three wire entries, making mid-run branch connections without cutting the primary conductor. Rated for 18 AWG solid or stranded wire and 14 AWG stranded wire, it is suited for low-voltage wiring tasks in HVAC controls, automotive, and general electrical applications. Each package contains 50 connectors. Installation requires no stripping and no soldering, which reduces labor time on repetitive wiring jobs.
These tap connectors are used wherever a branch connection must be made to an existing wire run without interrupting the circuit.
