The 3M 7100156923 is a disposable, uncorded foam earplug designed for hearing protection in high-noise work environments. The ultra-soft foam construction slowly expands after insertion to conform to the shape of the ear canal, creating a secure acoustic seal. With a Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) of 32 dB, these earplugs are suited for jobsites where hazardous noise levels are a daily concern. Each box contains 80 pairs in multicolor. Licensed tradespeople and safety-conscious contractors rely on this type of disposable protection during routine work where extended hearing protector use is required.
These earplugs are appropriate for residential and commercial construction sites, mechanical rooms, industrial facilities, and any trade application involving loud power tools, generators, compressors, or HVAC equipment. The one-size-fits-most design accommodates a wide range of ear canal sizes, making them practical for crew-wide distribution. Their highly visible multicolor design makes them easy to locate on a cluttered jobsite. They can also be worn in combination with earmuffs when additional attenuation is needed for extreme noise environments.
Designed as a general-use disposable earplug suitable for one-size-fits-most adult ear canal sizes across a broad range of trade and industrial noise environments.
Roll the earplug into a thin cylinder before insertion, then reach over the head to pull the ear upward and outward to straighten the ear canal before inserting. Hold the earplug in place for several seconds while the foam expands to form a proper seal. A licensed safety officer or site supervisor should verify fit and confirm that selected hearing protection meets applicable OSHA noise exposure requirements for the specific work environment. Note that actual noise reduction experienced by individual users may be less than the labeled NRR due to variation in fit and fitting technique.
